In the spring of 2023, Katie sat on her kitchen floor and made a big collage for her son—using her hands, relishing the freedom of not overthinking, and making decisions guided purely by what felt fun. The tactile, spontaneous nature of that process gave her a creative jolt she had been missing.

Illustration and painting had once been a major part of her work, but it had been years since she’d picked up a brush. That experience sparked a deeper dive into collage-making throughout the fall, inspired by sweet animals dressed in outfits reminiscent of her children’s early years.

The result is a growing collection of playful, nostalgic prints now available in her shop—created with the hope that they bring others joy, too.
